Nadine is currently working as a Research Analyst for Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East (CJPME). Her focus at CJPME includes human rights and civil liberties as they relate to Canada and the Middle East. She is a McGill University graduate of Lebanese-Canadian origin, having graduated with a BA in Political Science with minors in World Islamic and Middle East Studies and Women’s Studies.
Nadine is greatly interested in Canadian and Middle Eastern politics and women's issues. More specifically, she is passionate about the racism, sexism, and xenophobia Middle Eastern women face in Canada, especially those visibly identifiable as Muslim. In addition, she is interested in challenging the essentializing representations of Middle Eastern people as backwards, monolithic, and exotic, which have been used to justify Western imperialism in the Middle East to “save” Muslim women.
